The financial performance of the Batam Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam) has shown a positive trend up to 15 June 2026. Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) was recorded at Rp899.23 billion, representing 36.73% of the annual target.

This achievement marks a growth of 19.93% compared to the same period in the previous year, signalling increasing economic activity and investment in Batam. Additionally, BP Batam’s expenditure realisation was recorded at Rp546.75 billion, a 19.64% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

The Head of BP Batam, Amsakar Achmad, stated that the increase in PNBP is a strong indicator of rising investor confidence in Batam, reflecting the growth of economic activities in the area. “This achievement is tangible proof that investor confidence in Batam is increasing and that BP Batam’s financial performance is becoming better and more optimal,” he said on Friday (19/6).

He added that the increase in expenditure realisation also demonstrates the acceleration of development programmes and public services, ensuring that the benefits can be felt directly by both the community and business actors.

In a meeting with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), BP Batam also presented an indicative ceiling for 2027 of Rp2.437 trillion, sourced entirely from PNBP. This budget is divided into two main programmes: the Management Support Programme at Rp1.094 trillion and the Strategic Area Development Programme at Rp1.343 trillion.

However, BP Batam, alongside the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, proposed a budget recomposition by reallocating approximately Rp131.26 billion from the management support programme to the strategic area development programme. This step is intended to strengthen productive capital expenditure and reduce operational spending, thereby accelerating infrastructure development.

The budget reinforcement will focus on the development of water resources, drinking water distribution networks, environmental management—including wastewater and hazardous waste (B3) treatment plants—and improved connectivity through the construction of drainage and road infrastructure.

BP Batamin emphasised that this strategy aims to accelerate the development of investment-supporting infrastructure while simultaneously improving the quality of public services. “Reliable infrastructure will strengthen Batam’s competitiveness as an investment destination. When investment grows, jobs are created, economic activity increases, and the benefits are felt directly by the community,” said Amsakar.
