As smoke rose in the Fujairah oil industrial zone following a fire caused by debris after a drone interception by air defences, according to the Fujairah media office, in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday 3 March 2026. Some ship deliveries and bunkering of fuel were temporarily suspended as suppliers, traders and shippers awaited further clarity on the situation. Oil storage company VTTI and Vopak said in statements on Tuesday that they had temporarily suspended operations at the Fujairah terminal following the fire. The US–Iran conflict has disrupted fuel shipments in the region, triggering price spikes in Fujairah on Monday 2 February 2026, and potentially redirecting demand to other ports including Singapore. Fujairah is located on the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.
