Portrait of AHY Monitoring Victims of Train Collision at Bekasi City Hospital
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), arrived at Bekasi City Hospital to visit the victims of the train accident in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (28/4/2026). He hopes that the handling of the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station can be completed by this afternoon to evening. AHY hopes that the evacuation of the KRL wreckage, track normalisation and signalling, as well as the overhead electrical system (LAA), can return to normal around 5:00 PM WIB. Separately, KAI’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that the company is currently focused on the evacuation process and recovery of affected facilities and infrastructure. However, KAI is endeavouring to ensure that KRL services can reach Cikarang again tomorrow. After inspecting Bekasi Station, AHY directly visited the victims of the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station who are being treated at Bekasi City Hospital. AHY immediately entered the hospital shortly after getting out of the car. There has been no statement yet regarding this visit. The accident involving the Electric Train (KRL) and the Argo Bromo train at Bekasi Timur Station caused hundreds of casualties. The latest data shows 14 people dead and 84 injured. The deceased victims were evacuated to the Indonesian National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, Jakarta. A post has also been set up there for family members searching for their relatives who may be victims.
