Port Police Chief Denies Subordinates Requesting THR from Companies in Tanjung Priok
An official letter bearing the letterhead of the Port of Tanjung Priok Police (Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok) requesting companies to provide a holiday allowance (THR) circulated widely on social media. The letter, dated 4 March 2026, states that the Satlantas (Traffic Unit) of the Port Police of Tanjung Priok expects THR assistance from companies. The Port Police Chief AKBP Aris Wibowo said the letter was not issued by his institution. He emphasised that the Port Police of Tanjung Priok never issued any THR request to any company. According to Republika, the letter used police insignia and claimed to be on behalf of Polres Tanjung Priok. “We from the Port Police of Tanjung Priok have never issued that letter,” Aris told reporters in Jakarta on Friday (6 March 2026). He explained that the police had coordinated with the Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (Aptrindo) to disregard the letter bearing the police emblem. Aris added that Aptrindo had also issued a clarification letter to prevent any misrepresentation and to ensure that no business is disadvantaged. “We have coordinated with Aptrindo’s leadership, and Aptrindo has issued a clarification to prevent harm to any party,” he said.
