Porsche and Superbikes Seized as KPK Concludes Six-Hour Search of Silmy Karim's Home

Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have completed a search of the home of former Deputy Minister for Immigration and Corrections, Silmy Karim, on Jalan Brawijaya III, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The investigators removed a number of vehicles, ranging from luxury cars to large motorcycles, from the garage.

The vehicles began being towed away at 19:00 WIB. The first tow truck departed, though the items it carried were concealed under black cloths. A second tow truck followed, transporting approximately five large motorcycles and several racing bicycles. Shortly after, two Porsche cars, one maroon and one silver, emerged from the garage to join the convoy.

The convoy of seized vehicles was escorted by KPK investigators, who exited the property after searching the home for around six hours. The investigators departed in a procession of black Toyota Innova cars, followed by the armed police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel who had been guarding the site.

The search operation began earlier in the day when KPK investigators, accompanied by fully armed Brimob officers, arrived at the residence at approximately 13:46 WIB. The investigators, identifiable by their cream-coloured vests bearing the KPK logo, entered the house immediately after the main gate was opened, with the Brimob personnel securing the front perimeter.

Silmy Karim has been officially detained by the KPK. Alongside seven other individuals, he has been named a suspect in a case involving extortion and gratification. During the investigation, authorities have also seized other evidence, including cash in foreign currencies such as US and Singapore dollars, as well as precious metals.

The eight suspects in this case are: former Deputy Minister for Immigration and Corrections (2025-2026) and Director General of Immigration and Corrections (2023-2024) Silmy Karim; Acting Director General of Immigration (2024-2025) Saffar Muhammad Godam; Director of Residence Permit and Immigration Status, Jaya Saputra; Head of the Sub-Directorate for Transfer of Residence Permit Status, Tessar Bayu Setyaji; Sub-Directorate Head at the Directorate of Residence Permit, Bagus Bramantyo; Head of the Central Jakarta Immigration Office (2024-2025) and Head of the Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office West Jakarta (2025-2026), Ronald Arman Abdullah; Team Leader for ITAS Status Transfer, Juniadi Sri Priambudi; and Sub-Directorate Staff, Gusti Benar.
