Pornographic CDs and Drugs Also Found at South Jakarta Foundation

In addition to hundreds of firearms, narcotics and pornographic CDs were also discovered in a room belonging to the former chairman of a private school foundation in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Hermawanto, the foundation’s legal representative, stated that a total of 995 firearms were found in the room after it was opened for use by the school on 10 and 11 July. “We found 995 weapons, including firearms, ammunition, and various other accessories,” Hermawanto said at the South Jakarta Police Station on Thursday (6/8). He added that on Wednesday night (5/8), another room was opened, revealing more firearms, narcotics, and pornographic CDs. The additional weapons included four long-barrelled guns, two short-barrelled guns, a silencer, seven magazines of various types, ammunition of different calibres, several airsoft guns resembling FN P90, AK-47 and M4 Carbine models, a taser gun, bullet-making tools, and a guidebook on manufacturing ammunition. Hermawanto also disclosed the existence of a bunker-like room that remains tightly locked. “We have not dared to open it and will request the authorities to assist, as we are concerned about the legal risks,” he said. He noted that the foundation’s chairman was dismissed in April 2026 and had kept the keys to the rooms where the items were found. Untung, a staff expert to the foundation’s board of trustees, urged the police to investigate the case thoroughly, citing national security concerns. “These weapons are dangerous and could be misused, especially as they were stored on a school site, posing a risk to students and teachers,” he said. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Police have received a report on the discovery, which includes air guns and firearms, and are currently investigating the matter.
