Poor people to get cattle

DILI, East Timor: The provincial office of the Ministry of Social Services is distributing cattle to 760 poor families in nine regencies here, Antara reported on Saturday.

These regencies are Manatuto, Baucau, Lautem, Dili, Liquisa, Aileu, Manufahi, Bobonaro and Kovalima.

"We hope that the recipients of this aid will be able to make good use of it," office spokesman Dadang Nurmada said.

Last year, a similar aid package went to 680 families in the regencies of Ainaro, Viqueque, Dili, Bobonaro and Ambeno. (swe)
