Poor little beggars
Poor little beggars
From Bisnis Indonesia
There is a tendency for some parents to let their little children (under five years of age) beg at night, between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., at the traffic lights of the Jl. S. Parman and Tomang intersection.
They stand by the side of the car, which stops for the red light, singing an unclear song and ask for money. Occasionally the parents will shout at their children, if they keep playing on the sidewalk, and order them to approach the stopping cars.
Perhaps the social agencies in Jakarta could do something to help the parents start a small business and thus prevent children from begging at night.
