Pontjo Sutowo Ordered to Vacate Hotel Sultan by 18 June 2026

JAKARTA — The Central Jakarta District Court has set the date for the eviction execution of Block 15 in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex, also known as Hotel Sultan, for Thursday, 18 June 2026.

A notice of eviction execution has now been sent by registered mail to PT Indobuildco, the company owned by Pontjo Sutowo.

Kharis Sucipto, legal counsel for the State Secretary and the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK), stated that the letter is dated 19 May 2026.

PPKGBK, as the new operator, has time to prepare the management transfer process to ensure it proceeds orderly, safely, and without disrupting public interests.

“With nearly a month’s notice, we hope Indobuildco will vacate the property voluntarily,” Kharis said in a written statement received on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Kharis added that the court’s confirmation is crucial to prevent new issues during the eviction process.

He stressed that the 18 June 2026 eviction date marks the end of the lengthy legal process to reclaim the GBK Block 15 asset.

“Therefore, there are no further legal grounds to delay the return of this state asset,” he added.

Previously, PT Indobuildco’s legal counsel Hamdan Zoelva stated that the hotel building and business operations belong to PT Indobuildco. Therefore, the government cannot simply evict them from the premises.
