Pondok Pinang inundated

JAKARTA (JP): One community unit in Pondok Pinang district,
South Jakarta was flooded by 40 cm of water on Wednesday
afternoon.

The city flood control center reported that the flood started
after the level of water in the Pesanggrahan river reached 2.15
meters at 6 p.m.

The water level of the river started to increase at 2 p.m,
from 1.6 meters to 2.1 meters at 5 p.m. while normally the level
is only 1.5 meters.

The center reported that until 7 p.m. no residents in the area
were evacuated but they are ready to leave the house if the water
continues to increase. (yns)
