Pondok Indah Grand Mosque in South Jakarta received 10 cows and 35 goats for the 1447 AH Eid al-Adha. Alhamdulillah, this year 2026, Pondok Indah Mosque has again received sacrificial animals, both goats and cows. There were no sheep sacrificed this year; only goats were offered. If I’m not mistaken, there are 10 cows and 35 goats,” said Fatah (50), Chairman of the Eid al-Adha Sacrifice Committee at Pondok Indah Grand Mosque, during an interview at the mosque on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Fatah explained that the sacrificial animals were donated by regular worshippers at Pondok Indah Grand Mosque. He added that the meat from the slaughter is typically distributed to residents of Tanah Kusir in South Jakarta.

“Most donors are regulars who have previously sacrificed animals here. Alhamdulillah, the response has been positive. However, as our mosque is a transit point, some first-time donors have also tried sacrificing here. The mosque is surrounded by lower-middle-class communities on one side, while Pondok Indah residents live on the other,” he said.

“Therefore, we distribute the meat from Pondok Indah residents’ sacrifices to the neighbouring community, Tanah Kusir,” he added.

Mulan Jameela, a member of Commission VI of the People’s Representative Council from the Gerindra Party, also donated a sacrificial animal to Pondok Indah Grand Mosque. She contributed one cow for this year’s Eid al-Adha.

“Alhamdulillah, we also received a donation from Mrs. Mulan Jameela—a single cow,” said Fatah.

“Without disrespect, as a political figure, she did not donate under any political banner or specific group. She simply supported the event,” he added.
