PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has changed the passenger flow at Pondok Cina Station in Depok as of yesterday. Access to the commuter rail (KRL) at Pondok Cina Station has now been rerouted through an apartment building.

“To improve the safety and comfort of passenger mobility, KAI Commuter has adjusted the passenger flow at Pondok Cina Station starting Saturday, 21 February 2026,” said KAI Commuter Vice President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda in a statement on Sunday (22/2/2026).

“There has been a change in the route for passengers who previously accessed the station via the eastern entrance. They are now redirected through a new building on the second floor of Pondok Cina Station, accessible from the apartment building,” she added.

Observations at Pondok Cina Station in Depok show that the entrance from Jalan Margonda is now located before the old entrance. A banner reading “New Gate Access to Pondok Cina Station” is visible at the site.

With this change in access, KRL passengers can no longer cross directly over the railway tracks. At the old entrance, the path to the platform and the rail crossing has been sealed off with steel barriers.

Passengers must now walk through the apartment building. The station gate is located on the second floor. The access route is equipped with tactile guiding blocks for the visually impaired. The station entrance also features escalators and lifts to assist the elderly and persons with disabilities.

“This has been done for safety reasons, as the passenger crossing that traversed the rail tracks will be closed to protect passenger safety,” Karina explained.

Karina added that the western entrance of Pondok Cina Station remains operational and continues to serve passengers as usual. KAI Commuter confirmed that all supporting facilities, including directional signage and information within the station area, have been prepared to help passengers adjust their journeys.

“KAI Commuter urges all passengers to pay attention to the information provided, follow the directions of field officers, and comply with the signs and directional markers available,” she said.

“With this adjustment, passenger mobility at Pondok Cina Station is expected to run more smoothly, safely, and comfortably. KAI Commuter is committed to continuously improving services and facilities to deliver a better travel experience for all customers,” she concluded.
