PON flame to arrive in E Timor

JAKARTA (JP): East Timor, Indonesia's youngest province, is schedule to greet the XIV National Games (PON) flame with traditional dances, said IM Ndoen, general secretary of the National Sports Council's East Timor branch.

The flame, which was taken from its natural source at Mrapen, Grobogan regency in Central Java, is scheduled to pass through Indonesia's 27 provinces before appearing at the opening of the National Games in Jakarta on Sept. 9. The Games will last until Sept. 20.

The Games torch is expected to arrive at the Komoro airport, Dili, hopefully on Aug. 25. It will be paraded in six regencies: Manatuto, Aileu, Ermera, Ambeno, Liquisa and Dili. (yan)
