Electric vehicle manufacturer Polytron is hosting an electric motorcycle design competition titled ‘Fox Berkreasik Design Competition’, aimed at students across Indonesia. The programme is part of an effort to bring electric vehicles closer to the younger generation through a creative approach.

The competition focuses on the body design of the Polytron Fox 200 electric motorcycle. Participants are required to create original visual works, which will subsequently be evaluated by a board of curators consisting of art enthusiasts and automotive community members.

This move comes amidst growing interest among the youth in electric vehicles. According to a Lokadata survey of 1,500 respondents aged 18-34, approximately 75 per cent of respondents expressed an interest in switching to electric vehicles within the next five years.

Head of Group Product EV 2W at Polytron, Ilman Fachrian Fadly, noted that one of the challenges in developing electric vehicles today is not just technology and price, but also how these products can be accepted as part of a young person’s lifestyle. “The transition to electric vehicles among young people will be more massive if the products can integrate into and become part of their daily lives. We want to show that electric motorcycles are not just a means of transport, but can also serve as a medium for expression,” Ilman stated in a written release on Saturday (6/6/2026).

In addition to the design competition, the organisers are also hosting creative workshop sessions with visual artist Hard13. During these activities, participants receive training on the creative process, idea development, and visual techniques relevant to current design trends.

Hard13, alongside Adega, a well-known figure in the scooter community, will be involved in the curation process. The assessment will consider not only aesthetic aspects but also originality and the relevance of the design to the vehicle’s character.

Polytron chose the Fox 200 as the basis for the competition because the model has a relatively large body surface, allowing for more diverse design exploration. The electric motorcycle also targets the young user segment requiring vehicles for daily mobility.

The competition is open to participants aged 17 to 25, with the submission period running from 27 April to 18 May 2026. All registration and submission processes are conducted online using official templates provided by the organisers. The grand prize winner will receive one unit of the Fox 200 produced using their own design, alongside various other prizes including electronic devices and shopping vouchers.
