Polwan Jaga Jakarta Introduces Police Duties to Kindergarten Students in Central Jakarta
The Polwan Jaga Jakarta unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police held an educational event titled ‘Ayo Bermain Bersama Polisi’ (Let’s Play with the Police) for students of the Melati Kemayoran Islamic Kindergarten to introduce and familiarise children with security personnel from an early age.
Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Eko Yulianto stated on Friday that the students, dressed in Polisi Cilik (Pocil) or Little Police uniforms, were invited to participate in various activities in a joyful atmosphere at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Red Field.
‘In this activity, Polwan Jaga Jakarta provided education on the introduction of police duties, the importance of discipline, a culture of orderly traffic, and even taught proper and correct eating manners,’ said Eko.
In addition to receiving educational materials, the students were also taken on a tour of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Command Headquarters to see the activities of police officers up close. The children appeared enthusiastic when given the opportunity to ride in four-wheeled patrol vehicles and official motorcycles with officers.
Furthermore, the Little Police group was also taken on a tour of the National Monument (Monas) area and enjoyed the view from the top of the monument.
According to him, the police are not only present when there are security disturbances but are also committed to providing education and building closeness with the community from an early age.
‘We want children to know the police as friendly, caring figures who are their friends,’ Reynold said.
The activity with the Little Police, he said, is one of the Central Jakarta Metro Police’s methods for instilling the values of discipline and legal awareness in the younger generation. Through this approach, the Central Jakarta Metro Police hopes that students can grow into disciplined, orderly individuals capable of becoming pioneers of traffic safety in their school and family environments.
