Poltracking Survey: Public Satisfaction with Prabowo-Gibran Remains Stagnant

The Indonesian survey institution Poltracking Indonesia released its national survey on ‘Government Performance Evaluation and Strategic Actual Issues’ on Thursday (4/6/2026). The findings indicate that public trust in the administration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka remains relatively high.

Masduri Amrawi, Lead Researcher at Poltracking Indonesia, stated that 8 per cent of the public has very high trust in the Prabowo-Gibran government, while 66.2 per cent expressed moderate trust. “Combining those who are very trusting and moderately trusting, the figure stands at 74.2 per cent; therefore, the conclusion is that the level of trust in Prabowo-Gibran is at 74.2 per cent,” Masduri said during an online presentation in Jakarta on Thursday.

Conversely, 20.8 per cent of the public expressed low trust in the current government, while 1.5 per cent expressed very low trust, bringing the total lack of trust to 22.3 per cent. Additionally, 3.5 per cent of respondents did not answer or were unsure.

Regarding satisfaction with the performance of the Prabowo-Giddan administration, 6.2 per cent of the public reported being very satisfied, while 66 per cent were moderately satisfied, resulting in an overall satisfaction rate of 72.2 per cent. On the other hand, 23.2 per cent expressed low satisfaction and 1.9 per cent expressed very low satisfaction, meaning the total dissatisfied public stands at 25.1 per cent. An additional 2.7 per cent provided no response.

Based on the trends observed by Poltracking, satisfaction with the performance of Prabowo-Gibran has experienced a decline. In October 2025, the satisfaction rate was 78.1 per cent, which dropped to 74.1 per cent in March 2026, and has now decreased further to 72.2 per cent.

“While the numbers show a downward trend, statistically, given the survey’s 2.9 per cent margin of error, the shift from 74 per cent to 72 per cent is actually tending towards stagnation. Therefore, the trend is stagnant,” noted Masduri.

He added that the satisfaction level remains high as it quantitatively stays above 70 per cent. The three primary reasons cited by the public for their satisfaction with Prabowo-Gibran are the perceived accuracy of government assistance (14 per cent), the Free Nutritious Meal programme (13.8 per cent), and firm and authoritative leadership (10.6 per cent).
