Poltracking Survey: Free Nutritious Meal Programme Perceived as Most Beneficial

A Poltracking survey conducted between 11 and 17 May 2026 indicates that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme is the priority initiative of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka that citizens feel most benefit from. The survey, which utilised multistage random sampling of 1,220 Indonesian voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.9%, highlights MBG at the top with 27.6% of respondents identifying it as the most beneficial programme. Other programmes mentioned include the Indonesian Health Card at 11.2%, the Indonesian Smart Card at 10.1%, and free healthcare services at 8.5%, according to Poltracking Indonesia’s Lead Researcher, Masduri Amrawi.

Furthermore, the MBG programme is also regarded as the most well-targeted priority initiative, with 24.5% of respondents selecting it, followed by the Indonesian Health Card (12%), the Indonesian Smart Card (10.7%), and free healthcare services (10.6%). The survey also found that while 92.1% of the public is aware of the MBG programme, only 55.6% expressed satisfaction with it, indicating a notable disparity between programme awareness and public satisfaction.

Regarding the future of the initiative, 51.9% of respondents believe the MBG programme should be continued, while 35.3% believe it should not be continued, and 12.8% remained undecided or did not provide an answer.
