A survey by Poltracking Indonesia indicates that 77.8 per cent of the public believes Indonesia’s security is resilient in facing global geopolitical challenges. Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, the public perceives that Indonesia has achieved many positive milestones, including maintaining national security amidst uncertain geopolitical conditions.

“The government is also rated as very successful in maintaining security stability by 77.8 per cent,” stated Ahmad Zia Fitrahudin, a researcher at Poltracking Indonesia. Based on the survey conducted between 11-17 May 2026, the Prabowo administration has recorded positive results across several sectors, including affordable healthcare (75.1 per cent) and maintaining national unity (77.4 per cent).

Indonesia’s security position within global geopolitics continues to show positive trends. This includes the expansion of maritime security cooperation with Japan to strengthen energy security and maritime safety, which is vital as the Indo-Pacific region becomes a centre for global strategic competition and a major world trade route. Furthermore, various studies suggest that Indonesia has successfully maintained its position as a ‘middle power’ that promotes regional stability through an inclusive approach, respect for international law, and the strengthening of ASEAN centrality.

The Prabowo administration has also achieved high levels of satisfaction in several key areas, such as health, defence, security, and education. “Analysing sectorally, the highest satisfaction levels are found in healthcare at 75.4 per cent, defence and security at 74.5 per cent, and education at 72.5 per cent,” said Ahmad Zia.

Ahmad Zia emphasised that the Poltracking Indonesia survey reflects a solid socio-political capital that deserves public appreciation. He noted that the Prabowo-Gibran administration has successfully maintained performance trends from the previous government across five key sectors: health, defence and security, education, socio-culture, and politics and national stability.

For information, the Poltracking survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with a sample size of 1,220 respondents, featuring a margin of error of 2.9 per cent at a 95 per cent confidence level, using a multistage random sampling method.
