Poltracking: Prabowo-Gibran Cohesion Key to Maintaining Public Trust

Poltracking Indonesia assesses that the cohesion between President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is an important asset for maintaining public trust. Based on Poltracking survey data, the public trust level of 63.2 percent serves as a positive foundation for continuing to strengthen solidarity between Prabowo and Gibran.

Poltracking Indonesia Executive Director Hanta Yuda believes the cohesion between Prabowo and Gibran must be continuously maintained and reinforced. According to him, by preserving that cohesion, the public can continue to trust the government, which in turn will strengthen the approval rating.

“The President and Vice President need to consistently display gestures of cohesion and solidarity in every public agenda,” said Hanta in his presentation titled Reading Trends in Public Satisfaction with the Prabowo-Gibran Administration, broadcast on Poltracking TV’s YouTube channel on Monday (31/8/2026).

He continued that President Prabowo must involve Vice President Gibran in receiving clear and measurable duties. This is to avoid the impression of the vice president being a ‘spare tyre’.

“To avoid the impression that the vice president is merely a ‘spare tyre’ without a strategic role, the President needs to consider the portion of authority and a clear and measurable division of tasks,” he said.

Therefore, Hanta assesses that a harmonious and synergistic relationship between the president and vice president will reflect their political position in the eyes of the public. The harmony between the president and vice president can ultimately prevent verbal and non-verbal communication breakdowns at the top leadership.
