Poltracking: Majority of Public Trusts the Prabowo-Gibran Administration
A survey by Poltracking Indonesia shows that public trust in the Prabowo-Gibran administration stands at 63.2 percent.
Poltracking’s lead researcher Masduri Amrawi said the survey results indicate that the majority of the public still places trust in the government.
“This trust reflects the public’s strong hope that the government will continue to make sustainable improvements in its performance. The public also believes that the Prabowo-Gibran administration has the commitment and adequate capacity to promptly address various national economic challenges,” Masduri said in a written statement on Monday (31/8).
The survey also recorded public satisfaction at 55.1 percent.
This figure is considered to show that the various strategic programmes launched by the cabinet have provided sufficient reassurance, keeping the approval rating relatively stable.
The survey also recorded the government’s performance across various crucial development sectors. The education sector led with a satisfaction level of 63.9 percent, followed by social and cultural affairs at 63.7 percent and health at 62.6 percent.
Meanwhile, high trust also extends to various state institutions. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) was rated the most trusted institution with a score of 67.9 percent, followed by the Presidency at 57.7 percent.
In addition, the survey found that 51.9 percent of respondents agreed that a refresh of the ministerial ranks is necessary to further accelerate economic recovery and law enforcement.
“We see public enthusiasm and confidence that all input will be answered with tactical steps and programme improvements by the government,” he said.
Poltracking conducted the national survey in mid-August 2026, using a stratified multistage random sampling method.
Field data collection was carried out from 14 to 20 August 2026. The survey sample comprised 1,220 respondents with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
The survey clusters covered 38 provinces across Indonesia proportionally based on the 2024 Permanent Voter List (DPT) data, while the survey stratification was based on voter gender proportions.
Data collection was carried out by trained interviewers through face-to-face interviews with randomly selected respondents, assisted by application technology. Each interviewer interviewed 10 respondents in each selected village or urban ward.
