Polri's Traffic Corps launches Digital SIM innovation at Rakernis for the Traffic Function, 2026 Budget Year

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police launched an innovation in the field of traffic services, namely Digital SIM, during the Traffic Function Rakernis for the 2026 Budget Year. Deputy Chief of Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said the innovation is intended to ease service delivery to the public. ‘This is a form of the latest innovation from the Chief of Korlantas in an integrated Signal service system. There are SIM services, there is extension of STNK, BPKB (Vehicle Ownership Document) which has been designed by the Chief of Korlantas,’ he said at the PTIK Building in Jakarta on Friday. With Digital SIM, the public can access the SIM via the Digital Korlantas application without always carrying the physical card. For data security, the Digital SIM uses a dynamic barcode that changes every 10 seconds to prevent forgery and cannot be screenshotted or transferred. The Digital SIM also has security certification from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) for data protection. In addition, another innovation owned by Korlantas is the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) mobile drone, or electronic ticketing drone. The Deputy Chief said that such ETLE drones are more dynamic for capturing potential traffic violations on several road segments and can also capture facial recognition. ‘To avoid errors in traffic enforcement, it can also be verified using facial recognition systems. This is an extraordinary step,’ he said. These breakthroughs, he said, are part of Polri’s commitment to always provide the best service to the public, especially in the traffic field. The Rakernis for the Traffic Function for the 2026 Fiscal Year carries the theme ‘Digitalisation of Polantas Services to Support Polri’s Precise Transformation in Realising Asta Cita’.
