Polri's Presisi System Deemed Effective, Expert Reveals Reasons

Legal expert Romli Atmasasmita has acknowledged the success of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in maintaining public security and order during the demonstrations on 27 August 2026. Romli’s assessment extends beyond the results achieved, touching also on the methodology and systems employed by Polri in confronting complex security dynamics.

According to Romli, Polri has developed a patterned and well-organised security system, referencing the Presisi concept (Predictive, Responsibility, and Fair Transparency) as its philosophical and operational foundation in addressing all forms of threats to public security and order.

Romli stressed that this success did not come about by chance, but was the result of careful planning, systematic training, and measurable implementation of the concept.

“The Presisi-based approach enables Polri not only to be reactive, but also to predict potential disturbances and take effective preventive measures well before situations escalate,” Romli told reporters on Friday, 28 August 2026.

Furthermore, Romli affirmed the structural readiness within the police institution to respond to all forms of threats to public security and order.

“Polri already has a patterned and well-organised security system, referencing the Presisi concept in addressing all forms of disturbances to public security and order,” he said.
