JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency has uncovered a carisoprodol (Zenix) narcotic production network, securing a suspected clandestine factory in Semarang. From this revelation, police seized hundreds of thousands of pills and raw materials totalling 1.8 tons. “On 10 April 2026 at around 15:50 WIB, a joint team from the Narcotics Unit and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Narcotics Directorate secured a Zenix/Carisoprodol narcotic production factory,” said Eko in his statement on Tuesday (14/4/2026). The first location was at a hotel in North Jakarta. At this site, officers found 120,000 Zenix narcotic pills and arrested two suspects, namely Bharaka P and Ngesti. Meanwhile, the second location was on Jalan Kertanegara, South Semarang. From this location, police arrested another suspect with the initials Joni Tjanjaya. “Secured one suspect named Joni Tjanjaya (a repeat drug offender),” Eko stated. Eko explained that the largest revelation occurred at the third location, a warehouse in Wonolopo Village, Mijen Subdistrict, Semarang City, suspected to be the narcotic production factory. At this site, police found various production equipment and large quantities of raw materials. The seized evidence included 10 drums of carisoprodol weighing 250 kilograms, 32 sacks of hisel weighing 730 kilograms, 26 sacks of talc weighing 650 kilograms, and 9 drums of povidone weighing 225 kilograms. In addition, police also discovered pill printing machines, mixers, presses, as well as large and small scales used in the production process.
