REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is preparing a one-way traffic engineering scheme or national one-way system for the peak return flow of Eid, predicted to occur on 24 March 2026. “On the 24th, when the mudik flow is predicted based on traffic counts at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, we will implement the national one-way for the return flow,” said the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, at the Command Centre Post KM 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Friday (20/3/2026). He stated that if vehicle volumes increase on 24 March, a segmental one-way will be implemented first starting from KM 414, Kalikangkung, Semarang, Central Java. “It’s likely that we will carry out the first stage segmental one-way from KM 414 up to the Pejagan Toll Road,” he said. However, according to him, if vehicle volumes remain high, this traffic engineering will be extended up to KM 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Previously, the peak return flow for Eid 2026 or Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri is predicted to take place on 24 March 2026. With the government’s work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, the Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), Aan Suhanan, urged the public to adjust their return times to their homes. “You can return on the 25th, 26th, 27th up to the 29th so that this peak flow can be spread across each day,” he said. This arrangement, he added, is solely to provide convenience and comfort for all members of the public returning to their respective homes.
