JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has opened the possibility of reimplementing the national one-way scheme during the 2026 Lebaran return flow, should indicators of vehicle volume on toll roads reach a certain threshold.

In his statement, Korlantas Chief Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho said the policy would be applied if the number of vehicles passing through KM 414 at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate approaches 4,000 units.

“If the indicator at KM 414 Kalikangkung reaches around 4,000 vehicles, then the national one-way scheme will be implemented,” Agus stated on Friday (27/3/2026).

This step forms part of Korlantas’s strategy to anticipate the surge in return flow from the Trans Java region towards Jakarta, particularly from the Semarang Raya, Solo, Yogyakarta, and East Java areas.

Previously, traffic engineering has been carried out in stages. On Friday morning, Korlantas implemented the first phase of one-way from KM 132 to KM 70 towards Jakarta, followed by the second phase from KM 263 to KM 70.

On the other hand, the results of analysis and evaluation during the implementation of the 2026 Ketupat Operation show positive trends.

Traffic accident figures were recorded to have decreased by 5.3%, while fatalities among victims dropped significantly by up to 30.4%.
