The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that his team is currently focusing on preparations for the return flow. Several strategies have been prepared to welcome the Lebaran 2026 return flow.

“And we are currently concentrating on return flow readiness. We already have strategies and scenarios for the return flow from West Java, which we will route through functional toll roads, including the functional toll in Sukabumi,” said Inspector General Agus at the command centre at Km 29 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, North Cikarang, early Thursday (19/3/2026).

Inspector General Agus mentioned that the predicted peak of the 2026 outbound flow occurred on Wednesday night (18/3) with around 250,000 vehicles exiting. Traffic conditions from Wednesday night (18/3) to early Thursday (19/3) were dense but still under control.

“But from what I saw in the field earlier, it was a bit dense, but still moving. The peak flow is likely tonight (Wednesday). Approximately around 240 thousand or so,” he said.

The density began to ease after km 70 of the Trans Java toll road, where a national one-way system is in effect. Inspector General Agus emphasised that his team continues to monitor traffic conditions in the field.

“Because if we look at the traffic counting for the peak flow, there is certainly some slowdown. But after kilometre 70, it’s already one-way. So from 70 to Central Java, it’s quite smooth,” he explained.
