Polri Traffic Corps Begins Preparations for Lebaran Return Flow
Agus Suryonugroho, when met at the Posko Command Center KM 29 Cikampek Toll Road in West Java on Thursday early morning, stated that his side had prepared several strategies related to traffic management for the return flow. “We already have strategies and scenarios for when the return flow from West Java arrives; we will direct them through functional toll roads, including the functional toll in Sukabumi,” he said. Agus predicted that the peak of the outbound mudik would occur on Wednesday night (18/3). Based on monitoring on the toll road, he said, there has been an increase in the number of vehicles passing through the toll route. Previously, Polri predicted that the outbound mudik would occur in two waves. The first wave on 14-15 March 2026. Then the second wave on 18-19 March 2026. The peak return flow is also predicted to occur in two waves. The first wave is estimated to take place on 25-26 March 2026 and the second wave on 28-29 March 2026. In Operation Ketupat 2026, Polri has also mobilised 2,746 posts consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts to secure 185,608 protection objects, including mosques, Eid prayer locations, shopping centres, terminals, stations, ports, airports, and tourist sites.
