Polri Traffic Corps Anticipates Local Returnee Density on H+1 of Eid
The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, has predicted that density from local returnees will occur tomorrow, Sunday (22/3) or H+1 of Eid. The Polri Traffic Corps has already prepared anticipatory measures.
“Tomorrow will indeed see dense agglomeration. So, local returns from Solo to Semarang, Semarang to Solo, from Bogor to Bekasi, we will anticipate tomorrow,” said Agus at the Command Center Post KM 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Saturday (21/3), as reported by Antara.
Agus stated that the police have anticipated density from local returnees in several regions. Starting from Greater Solo, Greater Semarang, Greater Malang, including Jabodetabek and Bali.
The preparations include readying security posts, service posts, and integrated posts. Agus hopes that the officers are prepared to monitor the traffic flow situation in those areas.
“We hope that all officers remain on standby to monitor the journeys, both local returns and returns from Jakarta to Central Java, East Java, while they are there for family visits,” said Agus.
Polri and related stakeholders have also prepared to face the peak of the Eid return flow. This return flow is predicted to occur on 24-25 March 2026 and the second wave on 28-29 March 2026.
Meanwhile, traffic on the first day of Eid today, according to Agus, tends to be under control despite high mobility.
“The latest traffic update, both on toll roads and arterial roads, is under control. On Eid day, mobility activity is quite high, especially on Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) heading towards KM 70,” said Agus.
At 11:00 WIB, there was an increase in traffic flow on the Trans Java toll road, so traffic engineering was carried out on the Japek Toll.
“We carried out traffic engineering so that vehicles from Jakarta heading to Trans Java can flow more smoothly,” said Agus.
Regarding traffic safety, Agus mentioned that accident incidents related to fatalities have decreased by 27 percent compared to the 8th day of Operation Ketupat 2025.
Accident incidents themselves have also decreased by 3.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
“Alhamdulillah, of course we will maintain this until the return flow,” said Agus.
