The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho, revealed that the return flow from Bakauheni to Merak on Saturday night (28/3/2026) WIB was under control without any vehicle build-up. Although Operation Ketupat has ended, the police continue intensive monitoring as part of the ‘Intensified Routine Activities’ (KRYD), led directly by the National Police Chief. Agus stated that the monitoring results at the ferry crossing route serve as one of the positive indicators in managing this year’s Lebaran return flow. After ensuring the crossing conditions were running well, the Traffic Corps units were directed to strengthen supervision on arterial routes and toll roads leading to Jakarta. “Earlier, we accompanied him to ensure the return flow, especially from Bakauheni to Merak, was quite good, under control, with no build-up,” said the Traffic Corps Head at the Rest Area KM 62 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Saturday night (28/3/2026) WIB. Agus explained that the checking results in the crossing area aligned with the traffic situation in the subsequent corridors leading to the Capital. According to him, the flow on the Banten Toll, Cikupa, and up to Jakarta was also in a fairly managed condition on the night of monitoring. Such conditions mean that the focus of security has shifted to arterial routes that are starting to become dense with increasing vehicle flow from various directions. Agus urged local units to actively go out to disperse congestion, especially on the Pantura route and southern route. On the main return flow toll roads, the Traffic Corps is still maintaining the local one-way stage two from KM 263 to KM 70. On the route to Jakarta, one-lane contraflow engineering from KM 70 to KM 55 is also still being implemented because the flow to the Capital remains quite dense.
