JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Labour Desk of Bareskrim, the Indonesian Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency, has resolved a dispute over termination of employment (PHK) involving 103 workers at PT Multistrada Arah Sarana in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. Through mediation, the company agreed to withdraw the PHK letters against the workers. The mediation was led directly by Dir Tipidter Bareskrim Polri and the Head of the Police’s Labour Desk, Brigadier General Moh Irhamni, at the Bareskrim Labour Desk Room, on Tuesday evening, 19 May 2026. ‘The mediation conducted by the Labour Desk with the parties has reached an agreement,’ Irhamni said in a statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The outcome affected the PHK of 130 workers on 1 May 2026. ‘There were 27 workers who accepted the PHK and 103 workers who rejected the unilateral PHK carried out by the company,’ he said. The rejection had sparked tensions in industrial relations. The Confederation of All Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI) even planned to hold a protest at the factory site today. However, through the mediation facilitated by the Labour Desk of Polri, both sides eventually reached a consensus. The mediation was also attended by KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea and PT Multistrada Arah Sarana President Director Igor S Zyemit. ‘The company has withdrawn the PHK letters against the 103 workers,’ Irhamni stated. In addition, he added, any remaining disputes of interest will be resolved through the Industrial Relations Dispute Resolution mechanism (PPHI) in accordance with statutory provisions. KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea welcomed the mediation outcome.
