Polri Kakorlantas Checks Readiness of the Functional Japek II Selatan Toll Road Ahead of Ketupat 2026 Operation
Jakarta – Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, S.H., M.Hum, reviewed the readiness of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) II Selatan, which will be activated to handle both inbound and outbound traffic during Eid al-Fitr 2026. The review, led by Kakorlantas on Saturday 7 March 2026, aimed to ensure that the functional toll road from Sadang to Setu can operate effectively to support smooth traffic during Operation Ketupat 2026, particularly during the return flow. Two work points remain under completion on the Sadang-Setu segment at KM 16 and KM 13. ‘There are two points still under repair at KM 16 and KM 13,’ he said, adding that according to the toll road operator, repairs should be completed in two to three days. He explained that the functional toll road from Sadang to Setu can alleviate congestion on the return flow after Lebaran. Meanwhile, the Sadang to Bojongmangu segment can be used for both outbound and inbound traffic. Additionally, Korlantas Polri has prepared several traffic-engineering schemes at several points, particularly at Bojongmangu and Setu exits, to anticipate potential congestion. He noted that four exits will be activated on the toll road. If vehicle volumes increase, traffic from the functional toll can be diverted out via Deltamas so that not all traffic exits at Setu. ‘If traffic is high enough, we will release to Deltamas so not all traffic exits at Setu. Traffic management at the toll exits will be handled according to traffic counts at that time,’ he said. With the Japek II Selatan functional toll road, it is hoped to provide an alternative route for vehicles from Bandung to Jakarta that have previously passed through Toll Jakarta-Cikampek. ‘Japek II Selatan can also divert traffic from Bandung to Jakarta that normally goes via Cikampek. With this functional route, traffic can be managed through two lanes, reducing congestion on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road,’ he explained. To support traffic management during Operation Ketupat 2026, Korlantas Polri will also utilise traffic-monitoring technology on both the main toll road and the functional toll. Moreover, potential congestion at exit points such as Bojongmangu and Setu will be anticipated by establishing traffic-control posts and a traffic-counting system to distribute vehicles optimally.
