RS Polri Kramat Jati has received a total of 10 body bags containing victims from the fatal accident between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. The head of the hospital, Brigadier General Prima Heru, stated that the facility has begun the identification process for all victims. He explained that all the victims received are female. “We have received 10 body bags at the moment. All female,” he told reporters on Tuesday (28/4). He added that a post for complaints and submission of antemortem data has been open since Monday (28/4) evening. Prima noted that up to now, only three families have submitted such data to the police. “The post has been open since last night. Up to 10.30, only three families have submitted,” he said. PT KAI’s President Director Bobby Rasyidin previously stated that the total number of fatalities is 14, with 84 injured. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Transportation, the incident began when a KRL train on the Bekasi-Cikarang route was obstructed by a vehicle at level crossing JPL 85. As a result, the KRL train had to be evacuated and designated as an Extraordinary Journey (PLB) with code 5181, as it stopped and operated outside the regular schedule. Due to this event, officers then stopped another KRL train with PLB code 5568 heading to Cikarang at the Bekasi Timur Station platform. However, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train (Train 4) on the Jakarta-Surabaya route did not manage to stop completely, leading to the collision with the stationary PLB 5568 train.
