Polri deploys 317,000 personnel to secure the 2026 Lebaran homecoming
Dirgakum Korlantas Polri Brig. Gen. Faisal said that 317,664 Polri personnel have been prepared to secure the flow of mudik and balik during Lebaran 2026. He said about 72,000 additional personnel from related stakeholders have also been prepared. ‘The security object within the Ketupat Operation security operation is for Polri personnel amounting to 317,664. Then stakeholder personnel 72,000,’ Faisal said during a discussion titled ‘Synergy Between Government and Stakeholders to Make Mudik 2026 Safe and Comfortable’ at the Parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (5/3/2026).
The security objects targeted by the operation reach 185,544 locations. They include 618 terminals, 268 railway stations, 562 ports, and 2,962 shopping centres.
‘Then 182 airports, 4,640 tourist attractions, 121,796 mosques, and 54,000 Eid prayer locations,’ he said.
Faisal said in addition to personnel, thousands of security posts are prepared. He said the posts are spread across various regions.
‘Total Ketupat Operation posts for 2026 amount to 2,756 posts, consisting of 784 service posts, 1,629 security posts, and 343 integrated posts,’ he explained.
‘This integrated post is of course a joint effort from all stakeholders, where the post is fully equipped, from the ministry, health service, and workshops, so that the posts can truly provide the best service to the public,’ he added.
Moreover, Faisal noted that the peak mudik flow is expected to occur in two waves. The same applies to the peak balik flow.
‘We inform that for mudik flow, the peak occurs in two waves, with the peak dates on 14 and 15 March (first wave). Secondly, on 18 and 19 March (second wave),’ he stated.
Meanwhile, the peak balik flow for this Lebaran is predicted to begin on 24 March.
‘Balik flow is also predicted to come in two waves, on 24 and 25 March, and 28 and 29 March,’ he added.
