Polri Chief thanks ojol drivers and workers: keep serving as the backbone of public security
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed gratitude to ojek online drivers and workers who stand with the Polri in maintaining public order and security (kam t ibmas). The Police Chief hopes that ojol and workers will continue to be the belt of kamtibmas.
‘I would like to thank our fellow workers and ojek online drivers who are always accompanying Polri in maintaining security and public order so that it remains conducive. Continue to be the ’belt of kamtibmas’ capable of being a pioneer and a role model in maintaining order and security, so that a comfortable situation can be felt by the entire community,’ said the Police Chief as he led the ojol and kamtibmas workers parade in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Sunday (8/3/2026).
The Police Chief asked ojol and workers to make Polri a strategic partner. The collaboration is carried out solely to support the Indonesia 2045 vision.
‘Make Polri a friend and strategic partner in maintaining kamtibmas stability that remains conducive, so that it can support realisation of the vision ’Bersama Indonesia Maju Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045’,’ he said.
The Police Chief, in that event, emphasised the important role of workers and ojol in maintaining the stability of the national economy. Workers are seen as the main driver of the production wheel that underpins industrial activity and economic development.
‘Meanwhile, ojek online drivers play the role of connecting SMEs with consumers, thereby driving economic circulation, especially in the lower mid-market sector,’ the Police Chief said.
The Police Chief noted that the government has also carried out adjustments to the 2026 UMP to improve workers’ welfare. In addition, he said, the government has strengthened unemployment insurance programs and the benefits of work accident insurance.
‘If necessary, Polri also provides access to Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara to support health services for workers and fellow ojek online drivers,’ he added.
In line with that commitment, the Police Chief also said that his agency has developed a Labour Desk at the Polda and Polres levels, especially in industrial areas. This step is taken to resolve labour issues across Indonesia.
‘The desk has capabilities equivalent to the central level, so industrial relations and labour problems can be resolved quickly and accurately,’ the Police Chief said.
