Polri Chief Praises Programme to Build and Renovate Inadequate Housing in West Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has praised the programme for constructing and renovating rumah tidak layak huni (rutilahu) for the people of West Java (Jabar). ‘Thank you, Governor (Dedi Mulyadi), West Java Police Chief (Irjen Pol. Rudi Setiawan), Pangdam Siliwangi (Mayjen TNI Kosasih), who continue to synergise to implement programmes that touch the underprivileged who need them,’ he said during a Ramadan Silaturahmi in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday, as quoted in an official statement. According to him, the housing and renovation programme for uninhabitable houses is very beneficial for the community. He also said this programme answers the people’s hopes towards the Police institution. ‘The Polri must be able to implement and listen to what the public aspires and hopes for, so that day by day, the Polri can carry out duties in line with what the public wants, especially the people of West Java,’ he said. As for the programme in West Java, it records 168 uninhabitable houses to be built. Currently, 67 have completed construction and 101 are still under construction. Moreover, in the same occasion, the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of Polri urged the public to maintain unity and oneness. Especially now, the global situation is facing the conflict in the Middle East. ‘The situation we are facing and the global impact requires unity. That is the key to maintaining kamtibmas stability,’ he said. He also stressed that whatever global conditions Indonesia faces, the government will continue to carry out its mandate to support and promote growth and welfare for its people. Growth, he said, can be achieved if the people unite. ‘Of course, what are the programs related to food security and energy security must also be overseen because this is part of our efforts to face the global dynamics at play,’ he said.
