Polri Cadet in Central Lombok Allegedly Distributes Nude Photo of Ex-Girlfriend

A 19-year-old prospective Indonesian Police Academy student, identified by the initials DADS, a resident of Pujut District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been reported to the Central Lombok Police Resort for allegedly disseminating pornographic photographs belonging to his former girlfriend. The case has now entered the investigation stage. ‘The handling status is already at the investigative stage. We are currently awaiting the results of extracting data from the mobile phone,’ said AKP Punguan Hutahaean, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polres Lombok Tengah, to detikBali on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. Punguan could not yet confirm the status of DADS in the police recruitment process, whether he remains a casis or has been dismissed. However, he emphasised that the report regarding the alleged dissemination of pornographic images is being handled by Polres Lombok Tengah. ‘The status is still casis or already dismissed, I don’t know. But there is a report related to the dissemination (of photos) of pornographic content,’ he said. Meanwhile, Public Relations Head of Polres Lombok Tengah Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi said the case came to light after RSS reported the alleged dissemination of his private photos without permission by DADS. According to the victim’s account, Brata said the alleged dissemination occurred after the two were involved in a personal dispute. The victim’s photos are then allegedly disseminated on one of the social media platforms. Brata stressed that the police will handle the matter professionally in accordance with applicable law. If proven guilty, the perpetrator could be charged under the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) concerning the distribution of content that violates decency. ‘We urge the public to be more prudent in using social media and not to abuse technology to harm others. Any act that violates the law will be dealt with according to the rules in place,’ he concluded.
