Polri Anticipates Potential Public Security and Order Disruptions Due to Rising Oil Prices

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Mobile Brigade Corps (Korbrimob) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is anticipating potential disruptions to public security and order (kamtibmas) due to the rise in global oil prices resulting from the conflict between the United States (US), Israel, and Iran.

Korbrimob Commander Komjen Pol. Ramdani Hidayat said that his unit is following up on the mapping of potential kamtibmas disruptions from Polri’s Security Intelligence Agency (Baintelkam).

“The Security Intelligence Agency (BIK) has already mapped them. We just need to anticipate,” he said after the Mobile Brigade Corps Technical Work Meeting Roll Call (Rakernis) at the Korbrimob Headquarters in Depok, West Java, on Tuesday.

He explained that the mapping is coordinated down to regional units (satwil) and relevant agencies.

He also revealed that there have been no significant reports of kamtibmas disruptions so far.

“Alhamdulillah, everything is still under control. That’s why I say the current protests can still be handled by local units. Of course, we must all be prepared,” he stated.

Furthermore, the three-star police general mentioned that during the rakernis, they received instructions from Polri Chief Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to prepare personnel, facilities, and infrastructure to face potential kamtibmas disruptions.

In response to those instructions, he said that Korbrimob Polri will conduct evaluations, modernise equipment, and strengthen the training system.

On Tuesday, Korbrimob Polri held the Rakernis Roll Call attended by approximately 7,000 personnel.

The roll call was led by Polri Chief Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo and attended by several main officials (PJU) from Polri Headquarters.

The roll call is part of the rakernis activities themed “Korps Brimob Polri Precision Ready to Secure and Support Polri Programmes in Order to Succeed the Government’s 2026 Work Plan.”
