Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has affirmed that recruitment for Police Academy (Akpol) cadets for the 2026 fiscal year will occur through a single channel only, namely the regular pathway, with no special quotas. “As instructed by the Chief of Police through the Assistant for Human Resources (Irjen Pol. Anwar), Akpol recruitment will only be through the regular channel,” stated the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kadiv) of Polri, Irjen Pol. Johnny Eddizon Isir, at the Public Relations Division building in Jakarta on Tuesday. He advised prospective participants and their families not to be swayed by enticements from irresponsible parties offering or promising recruitment via special quotas. “Do not entertain it, just ignore it. Especially if they promise ‘oh, for a payment of this and that’, ignore it,” he said. He reminded the public to promptly report any instances of fraud or brokerage in the recruitment process. Reports can be submitted through the Divisi Propam complaint service, the recruitment hotline at 0821-1685-877, or via Bareskrim Polri and local police stations. “If you’ve already paid, please report it. We will take action. If it involves personnel, Propam will handle the disciplinary and ethical enforcement process. If it involves civilians or other parties, legal enforcement will be pursued,” he stated. Furthermore, he explained that Akpol cadet recruitment represents Polri’s long-term investment in training future leaders projected 25 to 30 years ahead. Additionally, Polri continues to evaluate the curriculum in police educational institutions, including Akpol, to strengthen personality values and eliminate violent practices, particularly in senior-junior relations. “Since the 1998 reform, Polri has prioritised a civilian police culture that upholds human rights, communication skills, and a humanistic service approach,” he revealed. He also invited the entire community to support Polri’s integrated recruitment process as part of efforts to build superior human resources towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
