Polri: 2026 Akpol Recruitment Emphasises Accountability and Humanism
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Polri has affirmed that the implementation of recruitment for cadets and female cadets at the Police Academy (Akpol) for the 2026 Fiscal Year will prioritise the principles of Clean, Transparent, Accountable, and Humanistic (BETAH).
“As emphasised by Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the integrated Polri recruitment will continue to uphold the principles of cleanliness, transparency, accountability, and humanism,” stated the Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General of Police Johnny Eddizon Isir, at the Polri Public Relations Division Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He explained that the principle of cleanliness means that the acceptance of prospective Polri members is conducted objectively, honestly, fairly, and free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism.
Transparency means that the recruitment is carried out openly, involving various supervisory parties, both internal and external.
Meanwhile, accountability means that the process and results of accepting prospective Polri members can be held accountable.
“In the process, every stage is conducted with a friendly, courteous attitude and upholding human rights,” he said.
Based on the data, Johnny added, the number of applicants for prospective Akpol cadets for 2026 reached 7,988 people online.
Of that number, 5,432 participants have been verified and are eligible to proceed to the next selection stage, which is currently entering the administrative examination phase.
The former West Papua Police Chief stated that the recruitment of Akpol cadets is a long-term investment by Polri in producing future leaders.
In addition, Polri continues to evaluate the education curriculum at police education institutions, including Akpol, to strengthen personality values and eliminate violent practices, especially in senior-junior relations.
“Since the 1998 reform, Polri has prioritised a civil police culture that upholds human rights, communication skills, and a humanistic service approach,” he said.
He also invited the entire community to support the integrated Polri recruitment process as part of efforts to build superior human resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
