Pollycarpus to go on trial soon
JAKARTA: The case file on alleged intelligence agent Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto, charged with involvement in the murder of noted human rights campaigner Munir, will soon be forwarded to the Central Jakarta District Court, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
Attorney General's Office (AGO) spokesman R.J. Soehandojo said his office was finalizing the Pollycarpus file with a view to preparing the indictment against the suspect.
"There are 32 witnesses listed in the file, including officers from the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), but I don't remember their names," he said.
Soehandojo said that the AGO was working together with police investigators in drafting the indictment.
Pollycarpus, one of three suspects in the Munir case so far, will be charged with premeditated murder under Article 340 of the Criminal Code, which carries the death penalty, and forgery under Article 263. --JP
