Putin invites Prabowo to return to Russia in May and July 2026 Russian President Vladimir Putin directly invited President Prabowo Subianto to return to Russia to attend an industrial exhibition event in May and July 2026, one of which will be held in Kazan, Tatarstan. Foreign Minister Sugiono, in a video recorded in Moscow, Russia, and broadcast by the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat, explained that the invitation was given by President Putin to President Prabowo when the two met at the Kremlin Palace on Monday (13/4). 2. Cabinet Secretary: Prabowo and Macron meeting agrees to strengthen partnership Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron proceeded warmly and agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. In an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Cabinet Secretary conveyed that the meeting between Prabowo and Macron took place at the Elysee Palace, Paris, France, on Tuesday (14/4) as part of President Prabowo’s visit to two countries, namely Russia and France. 3. 478 regional council chairs attend regional leadership consolidation at Akmil Magelang A total of 478 Chairs of Regional People’s Representative Councils from across Indonesia have arrived to participate in the Regional Leadership Consolidation Course (KPPD), packaged in the form of a national retreat at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang. Of the total 557 invited participants, the rest are estimated to still be en route and will soon join. 4. Indonesia’s territory expands by 127.3 hectares on Sebatik Island The Indonesian government has reaffirmed territorial sovereignty on Sebatik Island, North Kalimantan, following the completion of land border affirmation with Malaysia, which adds 127.3 hectares to the recognised territory of the Republic of Indonesia. “The resolution of border affirmation on Sebatik Island is a tangible manifestation of the success of peaceful diplomacy that strengthens Indonesia’s territorial sovereignty,” said the Head of the Presidential Staff Muhammad Qodari at the Bina Graha Building in the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday. 5. Legislation Body adds five bills to the 2026 Priority Prolegnas The Legislation Body of the House of Representatives (Baleg DPR) has added five draft laws (RUU) to the 2026 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). The addition is based on the results of revisions that have been agreed upon after discussions with the government and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) RI in a working meeting at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday evening.
