DPR Member Proposes WFH Every Wednesday to Prevent Perception of Long Holiday if on Friday
Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives Ahmad Irawan has proposed that the concept of a work from home (WFH) policy be implemented every Wednesday to avoid the perception of a long holiday if WFH is applied every Friday.
He said that WFH on Fridays could potentially deviate from its purpose because there are concerns that fuel oil (BBM) savings would not be achieved. This is because the public might interpret WFH as a long holiday en masse.
“If WFH is implemented on Friday, that day could potentially be used for tourism instead. The public could perceive it as a long holiday,” Irawan said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

“Starting next week, our WFH will be implemented on Wednesday. So Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we work in person. This WFH system is implemented in line with the central government’s fuel and energy saving policy,” said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in Surabaya on Wednesday.
