Chairman of the DPR RI Legislation Body Bob Hasan said his side will form a sweeping or omnibus law for the labour cluster, in response to the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling regarding comprehensive improvements to labour regulations in Indonesia.

According to him, the Labour Omnibus Law will cover work safety regulations, contracts, determination of whether the outsourcing system is appropriate or not, including dynamisation after the ratification of the Domestic Workers Protection Law, as part of the labour scope.

“The preparation going forward will no longer be hampered by methods like before. So we will form one like an omnibus. Labour omnibus,” Bob said at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Thursday.

President Prabowo Subianto has ensured that he will continue to defend the interests of workers, including when there are threats of termination of employment (PHK) as part of steps to guarantee public welfare.
