Policeman stabbed to death in Aceh

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: A policeman was stabbed to death by four
attackers in Kaju village, Darussalam district, while drinking
coffee at a kiosk on Thursday.

Local police chief Lt. Col. Sayed Husaini said on Friday that
Sgt Maj. Zulkifli, 45, was relaxing in a kiosk when four
unidentified men on motorbikes approached at about 10 p.m. and
stabbed him to death.

"He died on the scene with stab wounds to the chest," Sayed
said, adding that witnesses and locals fled the scene soon after
the incident took place.

At least 400 people have been killed in Aceh this year mostly
due to rebel clashes with security forces.

Separately in Kutamakmur, North Aceh, police unearthed the
skeletal remains of two people.

"They are probably victims of abductions by gunmen. We will
keep on digging as there are probably more (remains)," local
police chief Lt. Col. Syafei Aksal said. (50/edt)
