Policeman stabbed in East Aceh

ACEH, Banda Aceh: A policeman identified as Sgt. Maj. Sumitro of Idi Police subprecinct in East Aceh was stabbed by an unidentified man on Wednesday night, East Aceh Police chief Lt. Col. Abdullah Hayati said.

"Sumitro was walking home from evening prayers at the mosque when he was attacked near a market in Idi at about 10 p.m. The culprit fled the scene after stabbing him," Abdullah said on Thursday.

Sumitro was flown to Medan for further treatment for his injuries. (50/edt)
