Police arrest marijuana dealer

BEKASI: Bekasi Police arrested on Tuesday evening a suspected
marijuana dealer at his home on Kampung Jati, Margahayu
subdistrict, East Bekasi, and confiscated 48 packets of the drug
as evidence.

Police narcotics chief Adj. Comr. Rasino said on Wednesday
that the arrest of Zainudin, 30, was made following a tipoff from
a member of the public.

The suspect offered marijuana to plain-clothes police, who
negotiated a price of Rp 40,000 (US$4.70) for a medium-sized
package and Rp 30,000 for each of the small packages, he said.

The suspect was arrested with a total of 48 packages of small
and medium-sized packages wrapped in newspaper.

The suspect admitted to police that he got the marijuana from
a man who lives in Bekasi -- whose name he does not know -- for
Rp 30,000 for one medium package and Rp 20,000 for one small
package.

The suspect has been detained for investigation, as police
suspect a network with drug dealers from outer Bekasi. -- Antara
