Police: Woodyrman Drunk During Assault on Bruneian Man in Blok M

A celebrity influencer named Mohamad Irman Ali, 33, known as Woodyrman, has been detained by police after assaulting a fellow Brunei national in the Blok M area of South Jakarta. Woodyrman was reportedly drunk during the assault.

“The suspect was intoxicated. As for the victim’s condition, we await the medical report,” said Kompol Dimitri Mahendra, Unit Chief 1 of the Mobile Brigade Sub-directorate under the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), when contacted by detikcom on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Dimitri did not disclose details of the assault, but stated that the suspect and victim knew each other and were friends.

“They are friends, both know each other. The victim and suspect are acquainted,” Dimitri said.

The motive for the assault has not been clearly stated. Dimitri only mentioned that the suspect was upset after being reprimanded.

“Angry after being reprimanded. Full details will be provided during the press release,” he said.

A brawl involving foreign nationals occurred in Blok M, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Wednesday, May 6. The incident resulted in the death of victim MHF, 30, after 10 days in hospital.

The incident began when the victim was at the location with a witness. Subsequently, other individuals arrived and sat down to converse with the victim.

In circulating videos, the victim and suspect were seen arguing. Several people attempted to intervene in the altercation.

The argument escalated when the suspect struck the victim with a glass bottle, causing him to fall immediately.

“Around 3:28 AM WIB, the suspect arrived at the scene with an accomplice in a car. Upon exiting the vehicle, the suspect carried a black paper bag suspected to contain glass bottles, then approached the victim leading to an argument at the entrance of Blok M Hub,” said Polda Metro Jaya’s Public Relations Chief, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Tuesday, May 26.
