Police: Witness Claims Man Attacked in West Jakarta Was Thrown from the Second Floor

Based on witness testimony, the victim was thrown from the second floor,” said Head of Public Relations at the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Wisnu, in a statement to reporters on Saturday (16/5/2026).

However, Wisnu said that the witness testimony will still be investigated further by investigators.

“However, it is still in the process of investigation and further investigation,” he added.

In addition, the police will also check the CCTV footage at the location to confirm the incident.

“The CCTV footage will be checked later,” he continued.

Victim Dies

Previously reported, the victim died after being attacked by a number of people at a billiard hall in the Grogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta. The incident occurred on Sunday (10/5) at 02:00 WIB.

“The victim, a man with the initials DM, a resident of Palmerah, West Jakarta, experienced the incident in the Weston area or Pasar Grogol and was then taken to Tarakan Hospital,” said Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto.

Based on initial testimony from witnesses, the incident began with a commotion at the location which then continued to the second floor of Pasar Grogol, West Jakarta. The victim is suspected of being attacked by several people, then fell to the ground floor and lost consciousness.

The Grogol Petamburan Police have received a report and conducted a crime scene investigation, questioned witnesses, checked CCTV footage around the location, and conducted further investigation into the parties suspected of being involved.
