REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – Police are reminding the public in the Cimahi City and West Bandung Regency (KBB) areas, West Java, not to be swayed by tout services for handling motor vehicle administration. Supervision will be tightened to reduce touting practices. The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) has issued a Governor’s Circular (SE) regarding vehicle tax payments without needing to attach the original owner’s KTP-el. Kanit Regident Sat Lantas Polres Cimahi, Iptu Endang, stated that officers are not only stationed at the office but also going directly to the field to conduct outreach and assistance to the public regarding SIM, STNK, and BPKB processing. “This step is effective in breaking the chain of touting and providing direct education on the correct procedures,” said Endang when confirmed, Friday (24/4/2026). Police are also modernising services by optimising the Electronic Registration and Identification (ERI) system from Korlantas Polri. This digitalisation ensures the accuracy of motor vehicle data and speeds up the data input process. “Thus, the public’s waiting time is shorter. The goal is clear: we want the public to experience convenience. If access is easy and service is friendly, public awareness of orderly administration and traffic will increase,” explained Endang. The improvement in public service quality, which is currently under scrutiny, must be undertaken to ensure the public remains compliant in fulfilling their obligations as taxpayers. They are also collaborating with other agencies such as Bappenda and Jasa Raharja. “All these steps are taken to provide ease for the public in handling vehicle administration and tax payments,” said Endang. The main focus in implementing all these efforts is also to create a friendly, fast, and satisfaction-oriented service ecosystem for the public in the Cimahi and Bandung Barat areas. “This cultural transformation must be carried out so that public compliance in fulfilling their obligations remains high,” said Endang.
