Police Utilise Formula X-Fire for Forest Fire Cooling in Ogan Ilir

Members of the South Sumatra Regional Police Task Force are utilising Formula X-Fire to assist in the cooling process of forest and land fires (karhutla) in the Sungai Rambutan area, Semambu Island, Ogan Ilir Regency.

The Director of Samapta South Sumatra Regional Police, acting as the Head of Regional Operations Aman Nusa II, Kombes Pol. Ridwan Raja Dewa, stated in Palembang on Friday that the use of this formula is intended to maximise the cooling of semi-peatland areas that are difficult for vehicles to access. Operations commenced on Thursday (17/9).

He noted that officers, working alongside joint teams, successfully cooled an area spanning 10 hectares despite facing significant terrain challenges. These challenges include the characteristics of semi-peat soil, dried gelam shrubs, a lack of water sources, and limited access to main roads.

The team utilised portable pump machines and water tanks mixed with 10 jerry cans of the special liquid, X-Fire code 01.

The firefighting efforts involve personnel from the South Sumatra Regional Police Samapta Directorate, Ogan Ilir Police, Indralaya Police Sector, Babinsa, Manggala Agni, BPBD, MPA, and the Ogan Ilir Fire Department.

According to the Director, the use of the X-Fire formula has significantly aided the efficiency of fire suppression in semi-peat swamp areas.

The Head of Public Relations for the South Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, expressed appreciation for the solid cooperation between the TNI, Polri, and relevant agencies in protecting the environment from the threat of forest and land fires.
